Abstract This research aims to develop a deeper understanding of what factors contribute effective interprofessional collaboration in education from the perspectives primary school teachers Aotearoa New Zealand. A qualitative constructivist methodology was used involving semi-structured telephone interviews with seven working schools Four main themes were established: Collaboration is viewed as one teacher and professional together; immediacy perceived most important component support IPC education; effectiveness identified observable changes learner; classroom represents space through which view collaboration. The overall picture provided current that setting remains siloed entity done addition exclusive rest business. tension appears exist between autonomy
